Several days a month, I follow a period of meditation with a journal entry on the experience.
As the journal was ongoing for a few months before I created this website, I’ll post an older entry and a more recent entry at roughly the same time, until all my older entries are available and I’ve caught up. I don’t see anything important lost by the non-chronological order that will result, for a while.
You might want to read the entries “Why I Meditate” and “How I Meditate” first to see if there is anything here that is likely to be of interest to you. I am certainly not a teacher; at best a possible companion in your own efforts.
The wisdom I try to find and enact is drawn largely from the Dao De Jing. The loosely Buddhist practice of sitting I prefer I’ve drawn from many sources over the years, but Philip Kapleau’s The Three Pillars of Zen has been the most powerful instruction of recent times for me.
